There are two streams, the basic level and a more advanced cyber security stream for someone with significant directly related experience. Most interest is directed toward the basic level, which is an eight-month program that teaches several of the most in-demand programming languages prior to enrolling in cyber. For the advance cyber program, students can take up to 5 pre-requisite course and then enroll in the cyber program.
Yes, provided that they are over 18 years old and have graduated from high school. There is an application form on the website. Once someone registers and confirms they are over 18 years of age and a high school graduate, they complete our intake assessment.
The Assessment helps determine 3 things: if the prospective student has the general Cognitive Aptitude, Personal Motivation and Collaborative Personality traits most often considered core to those working in the cyber environment.
All Cyber Skills for Canadians training is delivered online so you can learn at home at your own pace. Once enrolled, the cyber program can be completed in 8 months. Intake to the program is open throughout the year, but classes start January, May and September.
We have several employers tell us that they want to hire every graduate we can get through the Cyber Skills for Canadians Program! There are over 30,000 cyber security jobs that will be unfilled by the end of 2023. Organizations like IBM, RBC, Federal and Provincial governments are looking for cyber security trained individuals.
