About Us

The Cyber Skills for Canadians Program includes completion of a relevant Industry Professional Certification exam in the area of study. Secure Software Development students write the DevSecOps and Python certification exams.  The Cyber Security Network students write the Cisco Certified Network Analyst – CCNA exam. The Cyber Security Architect stream concludes with students writing the exam for the ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional – CISSP.

Each candidate will receive the University of Ottawa PDI Professional Development Certificate acknowledging the student’s 650 hours in their course of study which may also be supplemented with an internship just prior to graduation.

The total length of time for training, including internship work experience placement is consecutive 8 months. Internship placements are sequenced to provide work experience ahead of writing the related industry certification exams relative to the recently completed component of the program.  This training/reskilling is for people who have had workforce experience and is not available as a direct supplement to high school or direct follow-on to other post-secondary education programs.

Completely online and self-paced, the program includes online video lectures, simulation-enabled skill assessment labs, and practice exam questions are supported with online instructors, mentors, and course community participants. The exam fees for your first attempt at key, highly recognized industry certifications are included in the cost of your tuition. Additional certifications are attainable based on the content taught though they are not an integral part of the certificate grading scheme.
